RaisingLadders, huh?
An odd name, I know.
Why not just use your own name, like everyone else?
Years ago, I started a blog while I was in the Washington, D.C. Fire Department's training academy. With a mounting pile of unpublished copy and a yet-unnamed website, I flipped through Essentials of Firefighting and landed on the section about raising ladders.
Uh, okay.
Who knows why it appealed to me, but it did, and it stuck. The point is, the blog itself was the entire reason I took up photography—because this firefighting stuff is simply too cool not to capture on camera.
Eight years later, I'm still hooked on both.
